Another member of the family was born last month and my dad, my son Jonathan, and I were able to be there when my sister-in-law, Rachel, had her 4th child (a 3rd daughter), Isabella June. What a doll! We don't get to see them very often and each time we do, the kids are bigger, smarter, and more amazing. We don't live near family right now in El Paso,
TX and I forget how much I miss it until I'm around other family members. These kids brightened up our visit and were a lot of fun to be around. My dad even got drafted to play with Legos. 'Bet he hasn't done that in a long time!
Sometimes it takes a child to show you how much fun you've been missing. My 8 year old niece, Callie, drove us all around the surrounding woods on a golf cart and we just had a good time enjoying the sunshine and outdoors. We went down to the lake behind their house and picked up shells, looked at pretty stones, and skipped some rocks. What could be better than that? Then we went back to the house to hold that pretty little baby some more.
I'm writing this to make a memory. I don't want to forget the joys and grace of being around little ones. It's been awhile and I had forgotten how the simple things are sometimes the most 'funnest' and the 'bestest' with 3 nieces and a nephew.
